Our North East is a community-led cooperative in the North East of England working to provide essential infrastructure for building collective power. We aim to support local community groups and activists to successfully campaign for a regional economy that meets the needs of its people.

A regional economy that meets the needs of local people, is sustained by inclusive democratic systems, is shaped by local communities and supported by a strong voluntary sector.
OUR PURPOSE
To build capacity in and connections between groups in the North East Strategic Mayoral Authority Region organising for social, environmental and economic justice.
OUR GOALS
1. Empowering people
We will equip communities with the skills to fight causes and build power in their area through political economy education; community organising training; demonstrating alternative economic models.
2. Building trusted, coordinated networks
We will hold regular in-person events to build relationships across the region and in different sector areas (e.g. housing, food), and develop the digital means to connect people.
3. Empowering communities to influence the systems that affect them
Through specific advocacy training developing local power mapping, and supporting coordinated campaigns across the region.
